Wet Wipes are the new tissues

There was a time not that long ago when mothers in the high street could be seen spitting on a tissue pulled hastily from a coat pocket in order to scrub ferociously at the chin of their offspring, usually in an attempt to get rid of some chocolate or ice cream which had smudged across the child’s face. No longer however, thanks to the rise of the handy and hygienic alternative, the wet wipe. Parents now see the value of carrying wet wipes with them wherever they go, as they are able to quickly and easily clean up their errant kids, use them to wipe down unclean surfaces in public places or just simply give themselves a cool, refreshing rub down on a hot day.

Having started life as a tool for cleaning a baby’s bottom while changing a nappy, it quickly became clear that wet wipes had far more uses, thanks to them being both refreshing and cleansing. Wipes can now be found not just in handbags and pockets but in kitchens and bathrooms everywhere, as their speed of use and antibacterial qualities help keep the nation’s surfaces clean and hygienic. Equally, it is common to see people giving themselves a refreshing facial rub with a wet wipe when travelling by train or car, plus of course airlines who continue to hand wipes out to let travellers have an invigorating rubdown upon arrival at a holiday destination. Long gone are the days of spit-and-polish, the wet wipe brings convenience, cleanliness and hygiene.
